Since 3MTT’s inception in 2023, Prembly has been part of that journey as a founding partner, providing identity verification capabilities to support learner registration.
Today, the partnership has supported approximately 2 million registration verifications, helping strengthen the digital infrastructure behind one of Nigeria’s most ambitious talent development initiatives.
About 3MTT
The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme is a Federal Government of Nigeria initiative led by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
The programme seeks to develop Nigeria’s technical talent base, strengthen the country’s digital economy, and position it as a leading global exporter of technical talent. Its training covers 12 technical skill areas, including software development, product management, UI/UX design, data science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and more.
Beyond technical training, 3MTT offers soft skills and entrepreneurship development to help participants prepare for employment, innovation, and other career opportunities. Through collaborations with technology and educational institutions, such as NVIDIA and MIT, the programme continues to expand its learning opportunities. It also provides pathways for advanced training, including the Google.org-supported DeepTech_Ready programme, which focuses on data science and artificial intelligence.
At the centre of these efforts is a digital platform connecting prospective learners to the opportunities available through 3MTT.
The Challenge: Supporting Identity Verification at a National Scale
For an initiative designed to train millions of Nigerians, managing learner registration requires infrastructure capable of handling large volumes of applications. A key part of this process is verifying the identities of individuals registering for the programme.
3MTT needed identity verification capabilities that could be integrated into its digital registration process from the beginning, allowing applicants to be verified against recognised national identity records. As registration volumes grew, reliable verification services and responsive technical support became essential to keeping the process running smoothly.
This made identity verification become more than a step in the registration process. It became an essential component of the infrastructure supporting 3MTT’s broader mission.
The Solution: Building With Prembly From the Beginning
Prembly’s relationship with 3MTT began at the programme’s inception in 2023, with Prembly serving as a founding partner supporting its digital registration infrastructure. Early reporting on the initiative identified Prembly’s role in powering the registration portal and supporting applicant verification.
Through Prembly’s identity verification services, 3MTT carries out Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN) checks as part of its learner registration process. These capabilities enable the programme to verify applicants’ details against established identity records while managing the large volume of applications received through its platform.
Unlike a partnership introduced after an organisation has established its operations, Prembly’s involvement has been part of 3MTT’s journey from the beginning, supporting the programme as its reach and registration volumes have grown.
