Building Trust in Education: How Botosoft Uses Prembly for Secure WAEC Certificate Verification

For over 25 years, Botosoft Technologies has supported educational institutions with secure digital solutions that protect the integrity of academic records. As part of this work, Botosoft uses Prembly’s platform to provide digital copies of original WAEC certificates, ensuring credentials can be accessed and verified securely.

In this interview, we speak with Osadolor Omoregie, Head of Projects and Service Delivery at Botosoft Technologies, about their experience using Prembly, the role of digital verification in education, and how trust and reliability shape long-term partnerships.

Tell us about the industry you operate in?

Botosoft is an IT organization that provides educational institutions with digital security solutions. Our service is a platform that provides digital copies of original WAEC certificates, we have been in operations in the last 25 years.

What initially motivated you to consider our solution?

So, regarding the solution I just mentioned about the WAEC certificates, that was very important for us. Being able to be extremely sure or certain that we’re giving the right certificates to the right users. So, we needed a way to verify people’s identity before giving them certificates digitally. Since they’re not coming physically to the offices or their schools, they can do it from the comfort of their homes and laptops.

What was the key factor or the final deciding moment that made you choose Prembly?

At the time it was two things: ease of onboarding and prompt support. It didn’t take us a lot in terms of onboarding and didn’t require much documentation. Everything went fast and smoothly.

And the price as well. Based on the volume of records that we’re going to be doing on a daily or monthly basis, we were able to negotiate a specific price or a discount in prices.

Describe a specific instance where Prembly has helped your team overcome a challenge or achieve an important business objective.

Yeah, like  I mentioned earlier, one of the most critical aspects of our product right now is ensuring that we are giving the right information to the right person, and that cannot happen without Prembly’s presence in our system.

In our workflow, the ability to confirm that a person is who they say they are is critical. Without that confirmation, we cannot provide them with the service they have paid for. I cannot overemphasize how important this part of the system is to our overall service delivery. So, it has been a wonderful addition.

What are the biggest business priorities for the next 6 to 12 months, and how can we evolve our partnership with Botosoft to better support your vision and help you get there?

This is a very crucial time for us. Having launched the WAEC digital certificates product in Nigeria in 2022, it has been in operation since then, and for three years we’ve been delivering outstanding service.

We’re currently expanding the product to other West African countries like Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Gambia. We plan to expand to those four countries within the next 6 to 12 months, trusting that Prembly can be just as important a part of our operations as it has been over the last couple of years, helping to make our expansion seamless.

One of the challenges that I’m hoping we’re able to solve with using Prembly is verifying other country documents as well. In Nigeria, it’s easy for us; there’s BVN, NIN, driver’s license, and a couple of things that Prembly has now. I hope we can have this same valuable service available across all four countries as well.

Botosoft’s work highlights the importance of secure, reliable digital verification in education. As institutions continue to rely on trusted systems to protect academic credentials, Prembly remains committed to supporting partners like Botosoft with secure infrastructure, continuous improvement, and long-term collaboration.
